As I sit and sip my instant coffee that is too dadgum strong, I’m reminded of the bitterness that comes with starting something new. There’s excitement of course, but there’s always that tinge of bitterness as we let go of the old and come into the new. Ah, coffee, the many lessons you teach!

Over the past few weeks I’ve found the original text of the book Lost to the World that I thought had been quite literally lost to the ether. Re-reading old work and re-doing the outlining process has been a lot of fun, but now comes the hard part. The actual work!

This blog is also part of the actual work, but more of a space for me to share my thoughts and what I’ve learned over my scant thirty-ish years and share that in a place where we can have conversations. That’s something that I do want to commit to: having a conversation.

Most of the time we say our peace and leave it at that, but please feel free to comment and I will do my best to get back to as many comments as possible. As an additional note to that, don’t hesitate to start a conversation on the Facebook page either!

What is This Blog About?

To be honest, you could say that this blog is a catch-all. But more than likely you are going to see topics about faith, writing, understanding, self-growth, and probably some of the stuff that I had to go through as a kid.

Many of these topics are going to be sensitive and something that can trigger a lot of different responses for people. I’m fully aware of that, and with that awareness comes the willingness to also talk with you or direct you to the resources that have helped me. Please never hesitate to reach out!

Why Are You Choosing Sensitive Topics?

Because there are too many people in this world who sugar coat their opinion, experiences, and growth patterns in order to protect the feelings of others. To put it bluntly, we’re not all the same, we don’t all have the same experiences but maybe, just maybe, sharing those differences can help someone else through their own trials. That’s my hope for this blog.

Additionally, sensitive topics have been a hot take riddled with a lot of misinformation or “I feel” that gets in the way. Yes, there will be the “I feel” aspect, but I also hope to bring in what I’ve learned from doctors (who don’t beat around the bush) and from research. On more spiritual topics, I hope that I am able to bring forward scripture and express the thoughts behind it without the lens of individualistic humanity.

There’s a lot I’m going for here and I am just one woman with a bunch of big ideas. That’s why I encourage discussion and disagreement, hell, even respectful conflict! That’s what helps us grow, change, and move forward.

Who Is This Blog For?

Anyone willing to read the rantings, ravings, and reflections of a fellow gremlin learning how to work through this world.

In all seriousness, this is a blog where each post is kind of meant for a different person. Not everyone has to relate to every post and you don’t have to agree with everything. That’s the beauty of having an opinion; you can agree or disagree and that’s okay!

Overall, I hope and pray that each blog post helps the people who need it or speaks to the people who are willing to listen. I’m not going for SEO (search engine optimization) here, and I’m not looking to build my keywords even though I could if I wanted to. The goal is to speak to people where they are and maybe we can all grow and learn from one another. It’s a big ask, I know, but dreams are meant to be big, aren’t they?

Last Minute Thoughts

This blog really is something that I hope brings people together and helps us all understand each other more and more. The goal here is to come together with respect and communication, not yelling and pointing fingers. I don’t care what side of what meter you are on or what you agree with, this isn’t the place to air that out.

So, let’s come together over these topics and discuss things together. Let’s create a community of all kinds of people from all walks of life. Let’s share our differences and appreciate them all while maintaining our own opinions.

That’s what I hope for with this blog.

Thanks for reading and may you be blessed today!
